I consider myself to be a lifelong storyteller. I was an actor for many years, from childhood through my time in university. However, since that time, I have found a passion in writing fantasy. I believe that all good stories are rooted in humanity in some way or another, so I make finding the emotion and the heart of my characters my biggest goal in my writing. Writing fantasy (or any kind of fiction) and theater are both rooted in the suspension of disbelief with their audience, which is one of the reasons I believe it was such a natural transition from one medium of storytelling to the other. There is a special agreement or pact of trust made between author and reader that allows both to experience a truly spectacular journey together. Even though fantasy is about made up stuff, I believe it must be grounded in real feelings and real people for that suspension of disbelief, or that trust, to be earned.
I’m a cat lady, a Shakespeare nerd, a spoonie, and a lover of my black gel pens. Most of all, I am human, and I want the heart of my stories to be the thing that lingers with you and, hopefully, makes you feel seen. I hope you enjoy.
